Like every pet parent, I spend a lot of time taking photos of my pets (our dog Reina is pictured here!).
I have learned over the years that while quick iPhone snaps are undeniably delightful, the greatest photos have come from when I stop what I'm doing, pull out my camera, and apply my experience as a photographer. I have also found that nothing captures an animal's warmth and curiosity quite like 35mm film. I bring my trusty Minolta X-700 to every session.
Animals provide us with deep connection, comfort, and humor, and I seek to document that in each frame. My photography style leans toward documentary rather than posed, and my editing style is more realistic than ethereal. I capture the everyday moments that reinforce why we love them so much: the silly faces they make, the way their ears flop, the joy in their eyes when the treats come out. My photos don't just record what an animal looks like. They showcase each animal's unique personality and lovable quirks.
